We have all heard the phrase “beauty is pain,” but who knew that fashion could be deadly. Sure, after hours of wearing stilettos, your feet may hurt, but you certainly don’t end up with a cracked skull! These high-heeled stunners don’t just look painful, they ARE. A San Francisco restaurant manager had the misfortune of being attacked by a fashionista and her red-soled stiletto. (Please note the shoes pictured are not the actual shoes that the assailant used).
According to ABC News, a pedestrian accidentally knocked over a Louboutin heel as a woman was changing from her heels into flip-flops. The woman began yelling at the pedestrian and her male companion punched the unsuspecting victim in the face. Upon seeing the ruckus, Matt Meidinger, restaurant manager, stepped in and tried to break up the fight, but instead ended up in the emergency room with a cracked skull.
“I spoke up and said, ‘Whoa! Take it easy! Kicking a shoe doesn’t equal a punch in the face, Louboutins or not!,’” Meidinger told Grub Street. “As the guy turned around to tell me to mind my own business, the woman ran up and said, ‘Yes it does!’ and came down on top of my head with her heels.’”
Meidinger took to social media to aid him in search of his attacker, who fled the scene, by tweeting her picture and offering a $500 reward. The mystery woman has not only been identified, but her information has been passed to the authorities.
“At this point we’re looking at it as a possible aggravated assault which is anywhere between three and five years,” San Francisco Police Sgt. Michael Andraychak told ABC News.
Time in prison is quite a high-cost for high-end shoes.
