Vera Wang, a Chinese American Fashion Designer known for her couture bridesmaid and wedding gown collections, has recently opened a new location at 15 East 26th Street, New York, NY. The 40,000-square-foot, 2-floor space features slate concrete and glass walls, which Vera attributes to a new way of operating the business and incorporating “lots of light and air” as the main goal. As WWD reports, this environment encourages and nurtures the cleanliness and care that the Wang staff brings to the work. Now, all of the brand’s departments are housed under one roof, which includes bridal and ready-to-wear design, sales and production, creative services, retail operations, licensing, and extensive sample rooms. Vera Wang’s store has nearly doubled in size, literally. The previous location at 225 West 39th Street was five floors totaling 25,000-square-feet.
Wedding bells are ringing and business is definitely booming. Celebrities that have donned the designer’s gowns include Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Garner, Victoria Beckham, Avril Lavigne, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Hilary Duff, Uma Thurman, and Kate Hudson, among countless others. Most notably, Kim Kardashian, in her recent wedding to Kris Humphries, wore not one… not two… but THREE Vera Wang wedding gowns for her “Fairytale Wedding.”
Vera Wang’s bridal salon will soon be sold in Chicago. San Francisco and Miami are also prospective cities for future stores.
